Sungate Energy Solutions is interested in all sources of renewable power so that the world can make the change from fossil fuels to clean renewable energy. When America decides that there is a need for something – especially something that is a necessity for the health and well-being of the world, this country makes it happen.

In 1931 before environmental issues were on the minds of the world, there was a need to generate hydroelectric power in order to prevent floods and to provide a continual source of water for agriculture. By 1936, the Hoover Dam was completed and serving its purpose in a huge way. It still provides energy to Nevada, Arizona, and California. The environmental benefits are that it not only provides renewable energy, but emits no greenhouse gasses.

While it was being built, the Hoover Dam which is the largest cement structure in the world did have a negative impact on species of fish from the Colorado River. Because Lake Mead is a manmade lake, and the mouth of the Colorado River was no longer flowing, four species of fish are endangered today. Currently, the lake is in trouble due to increased population growth, drought, and water evaporation. Eventually, Lake Mead could dry up completely.

It has served three states well for almost a century but there was much to be learned from this experience. The major lesson was that water is precious to many places on earth and damming can cause huge challenges to wild life and populations that suddenly have their water source taken away.  Yes, it worked for a long time allowing farmers to depend on continued water supply and it provided recreation for lots of people. However damming a river may not be the best way to capture hydroelectric power. It may be from other sources like the wave power of the oceans.

Sungate Energy Solutions believes in solar power. It will never go away and is completely renewable leaving no carbon footprints. It’s in endless supply in the right climates and can produce enough power to provide clean and renewable energy to the entire planet.
